The road to the Olympics is never easy. Years and years and years of training had prepared Shawn Johnson and fellow Team USA teammates for the Olympic moments that were just ahead. But, things got just a little bit tougher after two teammates injured themselves. Shawn stepped in to compete at every competition and event, every single day. She was exhausted, both physically and mentally.

Shawn went into auto-pilot once she took to the balance beam, her last event on the very last day of the Olympics, speculating that her fate with silver had been sealed. No one was more surprised, and happy, than Shawn when she was announced as the Gold Medal Olympian on the balance beam.
