On-The-Go Zip-Loc Salad!

By Taralynn McNitt August 26, 2014

I went on a vacation with Jeremy. We were in a car for hours and hours. I wanted to pack a salad that would last in the cooler without getting soggy or get all over the place when I ate it. I also had a bunch of fresh foods in my fridge I wanted to take with to prevent from wasting.

I grabbed a large zip-loc bag and started chopping up a salad.

I added:
Broccoli
Bell Pepper
Cucumber
Craisins
Pineapple
Strawberries
Almonds
Blueberries
Spinach Leaves
I packed a small container of Olive Oil Vinaigrette for dressing.

It was the perfect snack to munch on during my trip. No way I could have eaten this in one sitting, so I snacked on pieces here and there. When I was ready to eat, I poured the dressing over the salad, zipped it tight, shook it and ate it out of the bag with a fork. This was much easier than attempting to eat from a bowl on a bumpy road. It’s also a perfect idea for work, the beach or school. Make sure not to add the dressing until you are ready to eat or you’ll end up with a soggy salad.
