Treat Your Winter Skin With This Homemade Honey, Lavender and Coffee Scrub!

By Admin November 28, 2018

Honey, lavender and coffee… who knew three delectable things could sound so good together! Well they’re part of one of the easiest and most effective scrubs you’ll ever make. Our editorial contributor, Whitey Sims of Modern Nourishment, shared her fav DIY scrub. The honey lavender coffee scrub is the perfect natural exfoliant and perfect to treat skin hardened by brisk winter air. If you’re looking for something new to add into your self care routine, I highly recommend making this scrub at home!

All you need for the coffee scrub is:

  • Coconut oil
  • Leftover coffee grinds
  • Honey
  • Lavender leaves and/or lavender oil

If you’re wanting to just use this on your face you can make a small batch only needing about one teaspoon of coffee, half a teaspoon of coconut oil, and a dash of honey and lavender. If you want to make it in a larger batch to use in the shower to exfoliate your arms, and legs you can double, or triple the “recipe”.

Mix the coconut oil, coffee, honey and lavender together in a small bowl and use your fingers to apply to your skin. The best way to do is put it on like a mask, then it let it sit for 5-10 minutes. After begin to exfoliate slowly, then rinse!

Reasons why I love to make this scrub is because all the ingredients are natural! You don’t have to worry about any funny ingredients you can’t pronounce and they’re all safe to use on your skin. The coconut oil will keep your skin feeling so soft and hydrated. The lavender is great for making you feel relaxed and calm. Honey is great for anti-aging and is full of antioxidants, as well as being a great moisturizer for the skin!

The next time you plan on taking some time for yourself make this coffee scrub and add it to your self care routine! Get the candles and the essential oils going, make yourself a cup of tea, relax and enjoy the coffee scrub! After you can moisturize your skin with a little bit more coconut oil and you’ll be feeling so refreshed and relaxed!
