What Green Smoothies and Success Have in Common

By Jessica Lauren DeBry June 25, 2015

I have a confession to make.

I have been eating pure crap lately.

I know, I know, it’s not a big deal. But lately, I have been feeling a bit hypocritical.

Because who am I to tell you to “eat clean” if I’m not even doing it myself? I mean, I hate people who say one thing and do another. But…..I’m not perfect. Nobody is.

So I’m putting it all out there. Too much fried and processed crap, pasta and vegan cookies have been filling my plate. And not enough fruits, veggies, and whole foods.

Am I going to dwell on anything? Of course not. Rule number 7256 in life: keep moving forward.

Does what you eat define who you are? Of course not. But here’s the thing….when you’re not eating well, everything else in your life is affected.

Think about it. What you eat affects how you feel. And how you feel affects your mood. Your mood and state of mind affect your relationships, your job, etc. Therefore, what you eat has a direct effect on every single aspect of your life.

In my case, my recent crappy eating has left me feeling lazy, a little down, and just downright blah.

So I started thinking….what is one thing that I can do to get back on track? And like a lightbulb going off, “Green Smoothies!” popped into my head.

Green smoothies are a lot like success in life. True success isn’t a quick and easy road: it can get monotonous and boring, but those who stay the course will find true bliss in reaching their prosperity.

Green smoothies can get monotonous and boring sometimes, but if you continue with them for an extended period of time, you will reach an optimal level of personal health and feel fantastic.

For me, green smoothies are more than green smoothies. They are a symbol of my personal dedication to my health and my body. By starting my morning with a green smoothie, I set my personal wellness on the right track for the day, and I am more likely to make better choices throughout the afternoon and evening. Choosing green smoothies is the one thing that keeps me on track.

What is the “green smoothie” symbol for your own health? In other words, what is the one thing that you can commit to that will keep you on track with your personal wellness? Whether it’s a tall glass of water in the morning or an apple, choose your health symbol and commit to it. Your body, and your life, will thank you.

K. Well, I better go. I gotta go make my green smoothie! :)
